AU Tax Accountant
Job Description:
Position Scope
Role Brief Tax Accountant with 2–4 years of experience in Australian public practice. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing tax compliance work, and supporting senior team members with advisory engagements.
Key Role Deliverables
- Prepare and lodge individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and IAS
- Assist with financial statements and working papers
- Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
- Ensure compliance with the Australian Taxation Office requirements
- Support senior accountants with tax planning and advisory work
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
Education Requirement
- Relevant background in Finance and Accounting
Minimum Years of Experience in similar role
- 2-4 years of experience in the similar role and environment
Technical System Experience - Xero Accounting
Behavioural Competencies
- Must Have Skills / Experience Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance
- Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- High attention to detail and time management
