Modular/Cost Estimator - Australia
Job Description:
Our client is a privately owned engineering firm based in Australia, with established operations across major cities including Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The company delivers engineering services nationwide and operates on a 24/7 basis to support projects across various regions.
Key responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in estimating by interpreting fabrication drawings, architectural & engineering plans, structural markups and software files (e.g. CNC, DXF)
- Gather quotes from suppliers to help with estimate accuracy and production lead times (e.g. Steel merchants, painters, site welders/ installers)
- Liase with internal workshop team to understand the schedule and provide accurate lead times to customers.
- Perform regular checks and review on on-going/ completed projects to ensure estimates are within budget and lead times.
- Report to Senior Estimator for quote checking and/ or any other issues related to the role.
- Regular client visits to build relationship and seek new opportunities.
- Process and handover successful tenders/ orders to workshop.
- Regular check on the sales mailbox to identify new quote requests and take action on customer queries (Incl. phone calls).
- Coordinate procurement, drafting and engineering certification with in-house and external specialists.
Qualification and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Minimum 3 years in estimating
Highly regarded experience:
- Drafting and/ or estimating experience within any modular industry.
